JFK Feat. Freddie Gibbs – “Mike Vick”

Michael Vick has unquestionably been one of the (few) great storylines of the 2010 NFL season. In my eyes, it was a miracle in itself that he was able to just make the 53-man roster, but he then went on to one up that by snatching up the starter role from Kevin Kolb. Later, the Washington Redskins castration at the hands of #7 was the icing on the cake.

While people like T.I. clearly haven’t learned from their mistakes, Vick has. For the most part, he’s stayed out of trouble, kept his humility, and continued to tireless work hard at perfecting his roles on and off the field. And it’s paid off tenfold. He was never this great as a Falcon, and he wouldn’t have ever played at an MVP level if it wasn’t for his pitfall and subsequent efforts at redemption. Every way you look at it, Michael Vick is a completely changed person who has successfully shaken his demons, and left them in his past.

As the Midwest rap underground continues its push to the surface, in the upcoming mixtape, Gangsta Island Part 2, JFK adopts the Vick metaphor for a joint called…yup: “Mike Vick.” Featuring Juggaknot on the boards, and the ever-smooth baritones of fellow Gary resident Freddie Gibbs, the record is an easy banger that’s sure to keep the decks going until the tape drops.

The only question left to ask is how pissed is Gibbs going to be when Vick and Eagles send the Bears packing in January?
