First The Red Yeezys Won’t Drop, Now Justin Bieber’s “Retiring”

It’s like the world’s spinning off its axis right now. Teenage girls have to be experiencing extreme sadz right now, seeing as how Justin Bieber told his “beloved beliebers I’m officially retiring” via Twitter. On Christmas Eve, no less.

Could this be for real?

The sentiments? Yes. He actually alluded to retiring a little over a week ago during an interview.

But actually retiring? Probably not, considering the 19-year-old superstar has a new film, Believe, set to hit the big screen tomorrow. Nothing like toying with a young girl’s emotions to get what you want out of her right? And in this case, Bieber only needs them to arrive in theaters in droves tomorrow so the flick blows through the box office.

I do imagine it’s tough to live under the watchful eye of fans and cameras all day and night when you’re a teen growing into the adult you hope to be. His manager Scooter Braun and the film’s director both addressed Justin’s need to be seen as “human” subject to “complete vulnerability.” Braun told ABC News Radio “I think people forget that it’s a 19-year-old kid, trying to figure it out.”

Yeah, figuring it out includes very minor brushes with the law, swimming in the thighs of Brazilian prostitutes and smoking a little herb. Nothing wrong with that. The media may blow it up, but the average gawker understands that the kid is growing up.

Take the lumps young Biebs, but don’t retire. Like Jay said on “Holy Grail,” no sense in throwing baby out with the bath water. Right now, you’re a cash cow so keep raking it in. You’ll have plenty of time to retire and be a regular later. But, from experience, I can tell you regular’s overrated. Stick around, stay awesome.
