Born Into The ’90s: Nike Air Raid ‘Peace’

The Nike Air Raid’s a relic and a playground legend from 1992 that’s made a welcome return to retail this year. The Raids were a hit back then but it’s the Air Raid II that had what was undoubtedly the most memorable color scheme between the two versions.

Since the two models were almost identical, it doesn’t necessarily hurt to see the vivid, Kente cloth-inspired colorway of the IIs – commonly referred to as the ‘Peace’ version – gets transferred to the Air Raid. The updated version retains the “For Outdoor Use Only” branding instead of the “Live Together” “Play Together” slogan on the heel. But the same color pop is there as well as smaller things like the peace signs on straps.

Look for the ‘Peace’ Air Raids and additional models using the same color scheme to release in the ‘Urban Jungle Pack’ in late June or July as one of Nike Sportswear’s upcoming offerings.
