Russell Westbrook And Run The Jewels Make Noise In The New Air Jordan 30 Ad

Somebody at Jordan Brand is a Jewel Runner or at least knows what’s up. How else could the appearance of a Run The Jewels song in a new ad campaign be explained? Titled “Make Space,” the commercial features JB’s current poster boy Russell Westbrook, the polarizing point guard, introducing the upcoming Air Jordan 30 model, an equally polarizing piece of footwear, as the All-Star makes down a corridor and into the arena. The loud and boisterous sounds of RTJ’s “Blockbuster Night Part 1” serve as his theme music, leaving Russ to not have to say a word.

Really, he doesn’t have to as a shorty plays the role of hypeman, serving notice of Westbrook’s arrival. The kid calls him “The WestWolf, The Human Turbo Button, The New Big Bang,” which are all pretty accurate descriptions for anyone familiar with Westbrook’s tenacity on the court. Of course, the shoes deserve a bit of attention and receive it they shall. They may not be the most streetwear-friendly designer but JB’s renewed their focus to performance over the past few models and the trend continues here. “I guarantee you if you play the game, you’re going to like this shoe,” designer Tinker Hatfield told Dime back at January’s launch event for the latest in the Jordan series.

Watch for the commercial to make it to the TV screen during Super Bowl Sunday. The Air Jordan 30 arrives at retailers on Friday, February 12, just in time for All-Star Weekend.
