“Head out the window screaming ‘Maybachhh’…”

Cracks in the Maybach machine’s armor? Of course there are when one of your main hittas has to go take a county-sponsored vacation for several months (or weeks, depending on who you ask) and there’s public in-fighting going on. But while Meek’s away, Wale’s stepping up and testifying under fire with the track “MMG Under God (Heavenly People).”

Produced by fellow DMVer ToneP, the track’s gospel-tinged sound correlates with the title and finds Folarin pledging allegiance to the team that helped bring him back to life.

“Shit I been in my feelings
But I got on the team
I get over shit quick
Understanding my flaws
Loyalty is the law
MMG under God”

Towards the end, he also does a monologue where he namedrops a few friends currently incarcerated, including Meek. See, if there’s one thing that can take attention away from adversity and controversies, it’s good music. That’s the formula that’s driven MMG for so long now and still continues to help them power through yet another day.
