Ronda Rousey Compares Her Next Fight With Bethe Correia To ‘Rocky IV’

UFC bantamweight champ “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey was on Jimmy Kimmel Live Wednesday night to talk about her upcoming title defense against fellow undefeated fighter Bethe Correia.

Ronda said that she’s taking training cues from Rocky IV by running up mountains, but she points out that unlike her, Rocky never had any sparring sessions during his montage, “Drago is the only one hitting people”. Ronda also said she won’t quote the famous post-fight “If I can change, and you can change” speech because, according to Rousey, “I ain’t changing.”

Perhaps most gangster of all, Rousey spoke about how ending fights quickly is her way of being merciful, but that won’t be the case against Correia, as both fighters have been trading verbal barbs back and forth for months. Ronda said:

“She’s going to walk out looking different from when she walked in”

Ronda and Bethe will both walk into the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 1 at UFC 190.
