John Harbaugh And Donald Trump Both Want To ‘Build A Wall’

“Build the wall. If you don’t have a border, you don’t have a country. You’re not a country without a border, right?” — John Harbaugh

John Harbaugh was talking football, specifically the officiating in the Ravens’ first preseason game. But things took a weird turn from there as Harbaugh channeled everyone’s favorite politician, Donald Trump.

At issue was the amount of time officials work ahead of games. According to Harbaugh, they are limited to three training-camp practices, which is completely absurd. Players train for two months, go full-speed at practice and have four preseason games in an effort to prepare themselves for the regular season. And we expect refs to be “up to par” after a handful of training-camp practices. Nah, that’s ridiculous.

But this is where Harbaugh goes on a tangent.

“Be more concerned about the country than you are your party. How about we do that? Let’s try to fix things around here in this country. That’s what made us great…”

That sounds awfully close to “Make America great again,” Trump’s signature line. Harbaugh then dove headfirst into the “country without a border” thing and added:

“At the same time, you’ve got 12-15 million hard-working people here. Give them a shot. Give them a chance to become a citizen so they’re paying taxes. All of us know that it’s not that complicated, but this side doesn’t want to solve it, neither does [the other] side. Neither one of them want to solve the problem. Solve the problem.”

Trump-Harbaugh 2016. Let’s do it!
