This Boston Television Anchor Thinks Someone Should Murder Roger Goodell

Deflategate has yielded more than its fair share of flaming hot sports takes. After all, a ridiculous story deserves even more absurd opinions that should be stowed away with the likes of the Ark of the Covenant, never to be seen again.

For goodness’ sake, the Boston Herald ran a headline about Deflategate reading “Why do they hate us?“, effectively channeling the worst thing about sports fan bases everywhere and blasting it out to the masses in newspaper form.

But this. This. Suggesting that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell should be murdered—whether in jest or not—on television is peak Deflategate/homer media absurdity. Just don’t go there. Ever. Especially since two people were just murdered on live television. This is so out there in the darkest nether regions of the mind that it doesn’t even register on the hot take meter.

Furthermore, the comment (or joke, depending on your interpretation) spawned about a thousand Aaron Hernandez jokes, because murdering someone is a damn knee-slapper. This isn’t outrage, but let’s go ahead and sit this one out. Shoot, maybe let’s sit the next one out, too. Because we’ve officially cared too much for too long about Tom Brady, the exact PSI of his balls and other things that don’t affect our daily lives in the slightest.
