Jerry Jones Is Doubling Down On The Greg Hardy Nonsense With Talk Of A Long-Term Deal

The Dallas Cowboys have pretty much had the exact opposite reaction to Greg Hardy’s actions as the rest of the country. It’s to be expected in some ways, after all. It is Texas. The sports world has been talking about this whole situation non-stop since Hardy’s outbursts on the sidelines during a 27-20 loss to the Giants.

The video of Greg Hardy arguing with Dez Bryant is one thing. There are a lot of arguments on sidelines during every football game, and it’s just something to be expected when dealing with a bunch of gigantic ego alpha males are having things go wrong when they shouldn’t. But the subsequent fight with the special teams coach and the rude locker room interview afterwards have pretty much sold everyone on the idea that Hardy really hasn’t learned anything. Everyone except Jerry Jones.

Jones was adamant defending Hardy in the aftermath, calling him a “leader.” Hardy’s incredible leadership thus far has resulted in a lengthy suspension and release from his previous team. But, hey, he gets sacks! Gotta worry about that football team first. Jones took it a step further Tuesday and claimed he wanted to sign Hardy to a long term deal, right before talking about how he wasn’t enabling the bad behavior. If loudly supporting a player’s actions to the public against all sides after the player acts like a giant baby when he already has a terrible reputation isn’t enabling in some way, then lock me up. Hardy now sees he can act like a baby all he wants and his owner will support him.

For a nice palate cleanser, let’s watch Hardy get run over by Giants no-name fourth-string RB Orleans Darkwa.
