Fights with Ronda Rousey never last long enough to do so, but if needed, Rousey would have no issue fighting to the death. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Rousey revealed just how far she’s willing to go in the face of excruciating pain:

I dislocated my jaw, broke my sinuses, was coughing. When her hand went across my jaw, my mouth was ripped open. That’s the only fight I got a bruise in.

The worse-case scenario is you break your neck, and my neck was past the place where it shouldn’t have gone.

It was in that moment I realized I was willing to die to win this fight. I was willing to be a quadriplegic to win that fight. It was that important to me. I didn’t care. The thought of giving up never happened. You have to want it more than the other person.

The reigning UFC bantamweight champion is currently in preparation for a fight with with former world boxing champion Holly Holm on Nov. 14 in Melbourne, Australia. Holm will attempt to be the rare opponent that pushes Rousey past the first round of a fight. If Holm wants to hand the reigning champ her first loss, she might have to flirt with death to do so.
