Who Will Be Announced As The Super Bowl Halftime Performer On December 3rd?

The NFL announced back on Thursday, that the question of who would be performing the Super Bowl 50 halftime show would be answered during next Thursday night’s game between the Packers and the Lions.

Seemingly gone are the days of the “safe” choices like Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen, as the league has gone with modern performers Beyonce, Bruno Mars, and Katy Perry in recent years.

A few months ago, it was rumored that none other than The Voice judge and Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine would be headlining the show with his band. But Maroon 5 were far from the only musicians rumored for the gig, as names like Adele and Coldplay have been speculated. In addition there were also reports that Bruno Mars had once again been offered the gig, just two years removed from his first performance alongside the Red Hot Chili Peppers.  Even Taylor Swift’s name has come up at some point in the rumor mill.  Then there is that online petition signed by over 63,000 people to have Metallica be the choice.

Regardless, we will all finally know what the non-football fans will have to look forward to at this year’s Super Bowl come December 3rd, while the rest of us just hope that they don’t make the stadium lose power like Beyonce.
