A golf ball sprung from the Earth and brought a drone down with it after a mighty swing from eight-year-old Australian wunderkind, Ruby Kavanagh. After the ball made contact, Kavanagh let out a little scream and yelled, “I hit it!” as she watched as the drone wobbled for a bit before plummeting into the hills. Later in the video, they find the drone smashed in a bed of grass with propellers either destroyed or missing altogether.
Kavanagh, whose swing is absolutely gorgeous, has qualified for the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship twice and appears to be well on her way to becoming a household name at some point in the next decade, if she keeps on her current trajectory. The video shows a couple of angles of the golf ball obliterating the drone. First, we see a shot from right behind Kavanagh as we watch her swing, then we get a shot of the ball coming toward the drone from the drone’s point of view.
The slow motion shot of the ball coming toward the drone makes the whole video worth it, but just the sheer power combined with the grace of her swing makes all of Kavanagh a joy to watch.
