Super Bowl LII started off with the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots marching down the field and exchanging field goals. On their second drive, the Eagles decided it was time to bust out the big plays, one of which led to the first touchdown of the game courtesy of Alshon Jeffery.

Nick Foles dropped back and looked deep, noticing that Jeffery had a step on Patriots defensive back Eric Rowe. Foles decided to let it fly, unleashing a bomb down the field and giving Jeffery a chance to make a play.

Jeffery went up, made an insanely athletic catch to snatch the ball out of the air, and gave the Eagles their first touchdown of the game.

After the missed extra point, the Eagles had a 9-3 lead in the first quarter. Jeffery has been a revelation for the Eagles this year, as the team acquired him over the offseason on a one-year, $14 million deal. Through 11 games, Jeffery performed so well for Philadelphia that the team decided to reward him with a four-year deal that will pay him $52 million and $27 million guaranteed.

If Jeffery didn’t show that he deserved that deal when he hauled in 57 balls for 789 yards and nine touchdowns this season, he definitely showed how big of an asset he is for the Eagles on this grab.
