So DREAM.13, the pay-per-view-style event for the Japanese MMA outfit, happened on Monday. I don’t know if it was a pay-per-view per se, but it was that sort of event. Anyway, the biggest business of the night was delivered to Yoshihiro Maeda, who absorbed a badass combo from the former WEC featherweight champ Cole Escovedo.

Although Escovedo promised to beat Maeda with a triangle choke, the fight never went to the ground. In the first couple of minutes, both fighters threw kicks, punches and knees, but it was Escovedo that landed the big shot. He knocked Maeda out cold with a head kick that immediately followed an inside leg kick. It was a beautiful combination that resulted in a spectacular victory for the resilient Escovedo. –Eddie Graveline/Examiner.

So yeah, and then Escovedo pounced on him like a cat on one of those feather thingies on the string. And your GIF is after the jump. Just delightful.
