This Astonishing Submission Shows Why There’s No Shame In Tapping

Sometimes, when your head is stuck between the thighs of a competitor much stronger and skilled than you, it’s best to just tap instead of having your arm broken. Some would think that this is common sense, but the fact is that many innocent arms are shattered thanks to hubris and a clouded sense of judgment while in the heat of a grappling battle.

Take this clip from Flograppling, for example. This guy isn’t going anywhere. His head is very clearly trapped in a triangle, and his arm is being twisted however Mr. Orange Shorts wants. You can see the dominant grappler working the kimura, looking at the guy who won’t give up, then doing the only thing possible — adding torque until the arm shatters. Damn.

Obviously, this is graphic. Be warned.

Everyone involved has quite the reaction and it’s all the fault of the dude who ended up having his arm broken. Imagine that — having your arm bent the wrong way until it breaks and still being in the wrong. Simply put, the guy should’ve tapped. He was trapped and there was no getting out. Now, Orange Shorts looks like he’s gonna barf, the ref is definitely sad, and the guy who got his arm broken will forever be a highlight.

Let’s look again.

Brutal.
