Bob Costas said something really stupid and mean Friday night during the Cubs-Cardinals game on the MLB Network, and now he has set out to apologize. The target of Costas’ words was Cubs pitcher Pedro Strop, who turned in a poor performance, lasting only a third of an inning before being replaced.

His performance, no matter how bad, didn’t deserve the over-the-top and extremely personal attack Costas unleashed on Strop as he made his way to the dugout. This goes to show that no matter how accomplished someone is, and Costas is the most accomplished announcer of them all, you can still have a bad moment.

Costas eventually realized his mistake only after getting rightfully ripped, and he has reached out to the Cubs to set up a meeting with Strop to apologize in person before the Cubs finish their current series in St. Louis.
