Boris Diaw is one of the more delightful players in the NBA. The sweet-passing French big man plays a pivotal role in the Spurs’ beautiful motion offense. He’s a remarkably graceful athlete for a man carrying a belt of croissants around his waste. A Boris Diaw post up never fails to deliver a little panache en route to its destination. His role is more subdued now due to the presence of LaMarcus Aldridge and David West, but that hasn’t stopped Boris from being Boris this season. Aldridge gave Diaw the nickname “Tea Time” for his gallant forays to the rim.

Diaw took his nickname to new heights, though, when the Express News’ Jeff McDonald discovered that Diaw had placed a working espresso machine inside his locker.

Fast forward to Saturday, when Spurs players arrived at the AT&T Center before a game against Utah to find Diaw had done arguably the most Diaw thing ever.

He had installed a working espresso machine in his locker, completing the set with three tiny cups with saucers.

Tea time with Boris should be a regular pregame fixture for the Spurs. Popovich sits down with Diaw and Parker to sip a macchiato a few minutes before tipoff. These are the kind of luxuries a team can indulge in when they have a record of 31-6. The internet rightly changed Diaw’s nickname to The Borista, who serves delightful dishes on and off the court.
