While NBA players often grab the spotlight with regard to the fashion industry from the perspective of the athlete, Cam Newton isn’t far behind, if at all. The Carolina Panthers quarterback put on a show with his Craig Sager tribute outfit on Monday Night Football back in December and it isn’t exactly a secret that Newton operates with a sense of flare and style both on and off the field.
With that in mind, Under Armour, a long-time sponsor of Newton, is releasing limited edition cleats made to reflect some of the style choices that Newton made throughout the 2016 NFL season.

Katherine Peralta of the Charlotte Observer brings word that the four colorways above of the Under Armour C1N MC LE will be available on both Eastbay.com and UA.com for the lofty but semi-manageable sum of $170 each. The article also includes a breakdown from Under Armour’s senior manager of global communications and entertainment, Danielle Daly, that the color options represent pre-game cleats that Newton actually wore during the campaign, including a November game against the New Orleans Saints.
Given that these are cleats, they may not be the most practical for non-football players but Cam Newton is (very) popular and the extra bit of flare would seemingly make these easy to market. It should be noted that the shoe appears to be available in more “normal” colorways as well but, if you are up for it, you can join Newton in making a fashion statement while donning pads in the fall.
