Cam Newton Showed Up At A Youth Basketball Game Because He’s The Best

Imagine being in elementary school and getting to spend a day with NFL MVP Cam Newton. That was a dream come true for Marcel Reed, son of Tennessee State coach Rod Reed, who hung out with the Carolina Panthers quarterback on Saturday, according to USA Today.

(Marcel also received a visit from Giants cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on Friday but whatever, am I right?)

Newton was there to watch young Marcel’s basketball game, which was either the greatest thing or the most terrifying thing to ever happen to Marcel. Just picture being a kid and having your athletic hero there to watch you play a game, and you’re off that day. Or you’re on fire and you look over and Newton is on his phone checking Twitter. Too much pressure.

(Rodgers-Cromartie had lunch with Marcel on Friday, but who cares because Cam is coming the next day!)

In case you’re wondering why an Auburn guy like Newton is hanging around with children of Tennessee State coaches, Newton became friends with Rodgers-Cromartie because Rodgers-Cromartie played at Tennessee State with Newton’s brother, Cecil.

This has nothing to do with the visit but Newton wore this Saturday night while he was out on the town, and, well, yeah.

This visit to a child is just the latest example of Newton being selfish and a bad person. He shows up to hang out with this kid on Saturday, but what about Sunday? He couldn’t spend two days with Marcel? He couldn’t adopt him and raise him as his own? When are people going to wake up and realize Newton is only about himself?
