Charles Barkley On Ferguson Looters: ‘Those Aren’t Black People, Those Are Scumbags’

“We have to be really careful with the cops, because if it wasn’t for the cops we would be living in the Wild, Wild West in our neighborhoods. We can’t pick out certain incidentals that don’t go our way and act like the cops are all bad. Do you know how bad some of these neighborhoods would be if it wasn’t for the cops?”

-Charles Barkley

Did the grand jury get it right in Ferguson? Charles Barkley sure seems to think so. In an interview with 97.5 The Fanatic last Tuesday, Barkley talked about the “true story coming out in testimony” and expressed his belief that the media led people astray by jumping to conclusions.

“I can’t believe anything I hear on television anymore. And that’s why I don’t like talking about race issues with the media anymore, because the media loves this stuff, and led people to jump to conclusions. The media shouldn’t do that. They never do that when black people kill each other. “

Barkley, who’s never been shy about voicing his opinions, also called looters “scumbags” saying they don’t represent “real black people.” The entire interview is worth a listen, even if you’re not a fan of Barkley. He reiterates his position on “unintelligent” black people hurting the ones who work hard and go to school, among other things.

It’s what we’ve come to expect from Barkley. A no-holds barred approach with little regard to political correctness.
