The Jaguars’ Dante Fowler Looked On As Two Women Brutally Brawled In Front Of Him

Dante Fowler, Jr. hasn’t played a snap in the NFL yet due to a torn ACL he suffered on the first day of rookie camp last year. You could be forgiven for forgetting he’s a talent promising enough to be selected third overall in the 2015 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, before he ever got a chance to make a name for himself on the field, he did so by officiating a fight between two women in his life like a low-rent Mills Lane.

The video above is courtesy of TMZ, from an incident in which the police were never called and no charges were filed. It seems like a case of individuals settling their differences with violence under an assumed agreement that the loser simply has to take her lumps. Which, of course, doesn’t make it any less upsetting.

It won’t do any good to wring our hands over a fight between Fowler’s (alleged) current girlfriend and his (alleged) ex when the Internet’s titillation over such things is immortalized in one shouted word: “WORLDSTAR!” (link contains NSFW language). But it still needs to be said that anyone in a position to stop violence should stop it. Even an agreed-upon brawl between two amateurs can lead to serious injury, and if Fowler really cared about the welfare of these two women over the entertainment value of them duking it out, he would have never let it take place.
