Dexter Manley Made Things Awkward With This Joke About Black QBs Running From The Law

Most of you are familiar with Dexter Manley, the long-time NFL defensive end who won two Super Bowls with the Washington Redskins in 1983 and 1988. Manley now works as an occasional analyst/commenter for various outlets, including WUSA9 in the D.C. area.

On Saturday, Manley briefly weighed in on black quarterbacks in the NFL saying: “They like running because they’re probably used to running from the law.”

No-no, Dexter. You can’t say that, sir.

Unsurprisingly, his “joke” (if that’s what it was) didn’t go over well with just about anybody with a functioning brain. He apologized not long after and WUSA was quick to post it on their Twitter account. Because, you know, they don’t want to be associated with that kind of stupidity on live TV.
