Evander Kane And Alex Petrovic Fought Three Separate Times In The Same Game

There may not have been an “’80s Night” promotion at First Niagara Center when the Buffalo Sabres and the Florida Panthers played on Tuesday night, but it certainly felt like a throwback on the ice.

Not only did it have a highly entertaining 7-4 scoreline, it also contained three fights between the same two players — Evander Kane and Alex Petrovic. Fights are obviously still a part of the NHL, but they’re not as prevalent as they once were. Don’t tell that to Kane and Petrovic, however. Their first bout (shown above) came early in the second period, and they were back at it eight minutes of game time later, even harder than the first.

In the first two fights, Kane got the better of Petrovic (at least according to the experts at HockeyFights.com), but in the third, he really hammered the Panthers defenseman with the helmets fully off.

Kane lands, by our count, at least four solid punches in Round 3, smiling nearly the entire time. We’re not sure Petrovic was having as much fun, being that he was on the receiving end of three beatings. But hey, at least his Panthers won the game, right? Yeah, tell that to him in the ice bath.
