Floyd Mayweather And Nate Diaz Facetime Each Other To Badmouth Conor McGregor

Floyd Mayweather’s relentless attacks on Conor McGregor continue for another day. Yesterday the retired boxing great released videos calling the UFC lightweight champion a punk-ass bitch amongst other colorful insults. He then posted an Instagram of McGregor getting choked out by Nate Diaz at UFC 193 and offered his fans $10,000 for the best caption. Now he’s getting on the phone with Nate Diaz to laugh about beating McGregor.

“That’s my buddy Nate Diaz man. Let me talk to my buddy Nate Diaz!” Mayweather exclaims in a FightHype released video as he begins to use his phone to film two other phones with people calling in. Technology, thou hast failed us. “I think you won that second fight, too!”

“I won that second fight and he’s trying to hide from me now,” Diaz replies. “He’s hiding out.”

Over the course of three tin sounding minutes, Mayweather offers to hook Diaz up with TMT money (a sponsorship?) before the topic of Conor McGregor comes up.

“Hey, Nate. Tell me what I gotta do,” Mayweather says. “I see what you did to him, now. I’m gonna put the finishing touches on him!”

It’s just the latest war of words that make it sound like Mayweather is actually interested in fighting McGregor. But why wouldn’t he be talking like this? Trashing McGregor seems to be the only way he gets much positive publicity. An appearance at the Manny Pacquiao fight garnered headlines, but also reminded people what a stinker their fight had been. Suggestions from Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum that Floyd and Manny duke it out again went over about as well as a fart in church.

So maybe this is Mayweather life now … he’ll resurface every month or so for a few days to snipe at McGregor and then go back to doing whatever he’s doing with his hundreds of millions of dollars. So long as McGregor seems like he’s legit trying to get the fight made, it could work. But personally, we’re already getting a bit tired of the antics. Well, most of the antics…
