The NFL season hasn’t even begun, yet somehow the New York Jets circus is already taking center stage. Reports surfaced Tuesday afternoon that the team would be without quarterback Geno Smith for 6-10 weeks after he was attacked by a fellow Jet in the locker room.
According to Jets head coach Todd Bowls, Smith suffered a “busted jaw” after being “cold-cocked” by teammate IK Enemkpali. Actually, make that former teammate IK Enemkpali – the linebacker was immediately released following the incident.
Training camp injuries are quite common around the NFL, as are training camp skirmishes…but a training camp skirmish that results in a serious injury to a crucial player? J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!
