A Browns Running Back Is In Hot Water After Posting This Politically-Charged Instagram

Plenty of athletes have spoken out against the recent deaths of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling at the hands of police officers. While plenty of people have been unhappy about these forays into politics, no one is too up in arms about athletes speaking their minds.

However, one athlete’s response has led to some people calling for him to lose his job. Browns running back Isaiah Crowell posted a photograph on his Instagram page on Wednesday which depicted a man stabbing a police officer in the neck. It’s a graphic picture, and you can view it right here.

While Crowell quickly deleted the picture, it was still on the internet long enough for people to see it and get really, really upset. Some have gone as far as to say that the Browns should cut Crowell, who led the team in rushing yards (706) and touchdowns (4) during the 2015 season.

Crowell released the following statement on his Twitter account today in which he apologized for his “extremely poor decision” and said that “every death as a result of violence should be treated with equal outrage and penalty.”

Both the Browns and the NFL, both believing that Crowell was remorseful in his apology, have announced that he will not face any consequences for the picture.
