Hockey Goals Are So Much Better When They’re Called In Spanish

This goal by Jaromir Jagr wasn’t a remarkably spectacular highlight by any means. It was a pretty routine backhander that managed to sneak through the legs of Minnesota Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk early in the first period on Sunday. But, for some reason, the goal  — Jagr’s first of two in the Panthers’ 2-1 win — caused the game’s Spanish language play-by-play guy to go absolutely insane behind the mic.

While this brand of excitement is typically reserved for golazos in soccer, it’s still pretty awesome when associated with a hockey goal, even if it’s not the best one we’ve seen this season. I guess that’s just what The Jagr does to people at this point. That being said, I can only imagine the level of jubilation that this announcer would have had to overcome if he was on the call for this Evgeni Malkin goal from earlier in the season.
