Jim Ross Took Skin Cancer To The Woodshed This Week

Cancer scares are always terrifying, whether they’re lifelong battles or quick in-patient procedures. Earlier this year, legendary WWE Hall of Famer Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart revealed that he’d been battling prostate cancer, and since then we’ve watched him progressively kick cancer’s ass. He could beat cancer and beat up Ric Flair in the same year.

The first person to break the news of Bret’s cancer victory (in a temporary state, at least) was fellow WWE Hall of Famer and all-time great play-by-play man Jim Ross. On Thursday, Ross revealed that he himself dealt with a cancer scare this week, announced via social media. According to Good Ol’ J.R., he had a small procedure done to treat skin cancer, and he’s in the clear.

When the well-wishes started coming in, J.R. dropped some knowledge:

That’s advice we should all take. Get yourself checked out, and if there’s anything wrong with you, get somebody who knows what they’re doing to look you over and tell you what’s wrong, so you can fix it now. Don’t wait. Going to the doctor is scary, but it’s a lot less scary than the doctor visits down the road.

Congrats to J.R. on being in the clear, and to his continued (we’re assuming) immortality.
