This Crazy Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Shot Is Straight Out Of A Game Of H-O-R-S-E

It might not look like it, but I promise you the person who shot the basketball is in frame here. It’s Kentavious Caldwell-Pope with his hand up just to the right, and he’s about to make one of the crazier shots of this young NBA season.

Caldwell-Pope even drew the foul on Andre Roberson, making the free throw to convert a wild three-point play. What’s crazy about this is that you can pause the video at any point and it looks like no one shot the basketball at all.

It’s just hanging out up there. Where did it come from? Has this shot always been going in? Was it simply fate that needed to score two points here, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was merely a vessel through which higher powers made an appearance in the box score? It probably depends on what classes you took in college. I don’t know, physics seemed pretty hard. I went with a classics minor instead.

Detroit cruised to a 104-88 win over Oklahoma City, where Caldwell-Pope was the victim of an unfortunate bounce and later the beneficiary of one. Does this make him even on the night after getting kicked in the junk by Russell Wesetbrook? I’m not sure. I kind of think he’s still owed a few from the basketball gods.
