On Thursday, rumors began flying around the Internet about Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin. Now, to be fair, rumors about Lane Kiffin and his affairs outside of football are nothing new. This one, however, seems to have attracted the attention of mainstream media.
It started with former ESPN and current Fox Sports host Colin Cowherd:

What are the rumors, exactly? Well, it depends on who your source is. Chat Sports, notorious for putting out stories that are National Enquirer-ish, say Kiffin got into a fight with Nick Saban.

Others seem fairly adamant that the rumor centers around Kiffin’s philandering, most notably with a booster’s wife and Nick Saban’s daughter. Again, take these rumors with a whole heap of salt. They seem to have no basis (for now) and originated on Twitter and Reddit, not exactly the Woodward and Bernstein of the Internet.
So, Kiffin apparently slept with a boosters wife… Lord have mercy.

Again, just to reiterate, these are all just wild rumors. There’s not a single shred of evidence. In fact, we’re quite positive the Saban’s daughter thing was started by rival fans on Twitter and Reddit. That being said, and as we mentioned before, Lane Kiffin is trending because ROLL DAMN TIDE or something like that. Also, college football fans really love their rumors.
