With Leather’s Watch This: Here’s A Song To Motivate Dodgers Star Yasiel Puig

On Saturday, after the St. Louis Cardinals pulled off the unthinkable and bested eventual Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw for a 1-0 win to go up 2-0 in the National League Championship Series, my dad texted me something about the game and my response was, “These are rookies! They’re not supposed to be doing this!” But sure enough, the Cardinals’ young pitching has them in a great position, as the Los Angeles Dodgers have their backs against the wall as they return home tonight for Game 3.

The Cards have been able to stymie the powerful and incredible rookie Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, so I thought for the sake of baseball fans (who mostly all loathe the Cardinals now because whatever) I’d unearth this little-heard tribute song to Puig to provide some hope. Granted, I hope it works in the complete opposite and he goes to the plate without a bat, but I’m a man of the people first and foremost.

MLB NLCS Game 3: Cardinals at Dodgers – 8 PM ET on TBS

What the Cardinals pitchers are doing so far in these MLB Playoffs will be talked about for years if they can keep it up. However, it will mostly be people saying, “Those asshole Cardinals and their bullshit awesome pitching… *grumble, grumble, fart noise*.”

(I’d like to point out that I didn’t even mention that today is the 10th anniversary of the Steve Bartman game. Nope, I didn’t mention that at all.)

Monday Night Football: Colts at Chargers – 8:25 PM ET on ESPN

We’ll discuss this in greater detail in tomorrow’s Fantasy Football Support Group, but my gut had a revelation yesterday that this is the week to sell high on Philip Rivers. I don’t have any rhyme or reason for that, other than my gut was just like, “DUDE, sell. TRUST ME. And get tacos.”

WWE Monday Night Raw – 8 PM ET on USA

I think a fun angle for this stupid Big Show/ Triple HHH “GRRRR YOU HIT ME AND I’M SUING YOU” thing would be if HHH made Show become his butler. But then, I think the WWE would be greater in general if they randomly ripped off Seinfeld plots.

NHL: Wild at Sabres – 7:30 PM ET on NBC Sports

If I worked for the Wild, I’d have a whole marketing campaign called “Girls Gone Wild” with attractive girls wearing Wild gear. Sure, it would be misleading and I know that I’d be pissed if I saw that and clicked on a link to the site and there weren’t boobies, but that’s viral gold. Apologies if it’s already been done.

Also, here’s my favorite college football fan of the weekend:

She’s still not as adorable as this girl, though:
