See The Oregon Ducks’ New Oregon Trail-Inspired Uniforms

When it comes to college football season, there are a few things you can expect to happen on a weekly basis — upsets, shakeups in the polls, and the Oregon Ducks debuting a new, unique uniform.

We’re not even halfway through college football season, but the Ducks — in typical Ducks fashion — have already rolled out a handful of funky uniforms. You can check out a few of their early-season gems here and here. Their latest, though, was rolled out on Monday and features a design that pays homage to the Oregon Trail.

The “Oregon Pioneer” uniforms, which will be worn for this Saturday’s game against Washington State, include a silver helmet that features Lewis & Clark alongside the university’s duck mascot — all pointing west — as well as jerseys that feature a topographic map of the Oregon Trail region around the Ducks’ signature winged shoulder pads. Sewn inside the jersey’s collar is the phrase “Salute The State.”

You can check out photos of the ensemble below, courtesy of GoDucks.com. They’re pretty great, but where do they rank amongst the university’s uniforms so far this season? And, better yet, what else might the school’s equipment department have up their sleeves for later this year?
