In the bottom of the 8th inning of Tuesday night’s game between the Rockies and Giants, Colorado third baseman Nolan Arenado made a spectacular over-the-shoulder catch in foul territory before falling over the tarp. Then, in one motion, he spun around and fired the ball back into the infield from his knees, while still atop the tarp.
Afterwards, despite their team trailing by three runs at the time, the home crowd showed their appreciation for the spectacular athletic display by giving the visiting Rockie a standing ovation. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to good baseball.
The Rockies held on to win the game 4-1 and remain perfect on the road at 5-0.
