LeBron James and the Cavaliers got destroyed in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference semifinal tilt against the Celtics last night, and the talk of the day has stemmed around James’ inability to take over that game. James was a paltry 3 of 14 from the field, and scored only 15 points. That’s…uh, that’s not good.
Everyone is ready to bury James as The Over-market-ed Superstar That Can’t Win When It Counts, and there’s no reason to take the other side of that argument, especially after being the worst single night of teammate-ism since Rick Martel in WrestleMania V. It’s a shame that this will overshadow the great playoffs that Rajon Rondo is having. Maybe when Rondo reaches the last year of his deal, he can spend his entire last year in Boston insinuating his jump to the Knicks. I’m sure it’ll be totally fresh by then.
