Who’s Gracing The Cover Of The 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue?

The official reveal for the 2014 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover isn’t until later on Jimmy Kimmel, but of course nothing can wait for an official reveal in this day and age. And the winner of the coveted spot? Not Barbie. In fact, it’s “winners.”  The cover will feature the trio of Chrissy Teigen, Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge according to the Associated Press:

The last time multiple models appeared on the cover of the magazine’s swimsuit issue was in 2006.

So what made the trio’s photo stand out? Teigen said she thinks it’s because they instantly bonded as buddies and got along swimmingly during the shoot, in the Cook Islands, off the coast of New Zealand.

“The smiles that you’re seeing are genuine,” she said. “We had a good time, and it shows in the picture.”The models said the most exciting thing about their Sports Illustrated cover status is what it might mean for their futures.

“Getting to be on the cover, we’re all going to be household names,” Aldridge said. “It’s incredible what it does for your career and where it can take you.” Teigen joked that she doesn’t know what else to do now and feels as though she should retire. “Nothing is going to compare to this,” she said. “This is pretty epic.”

So I believe most people had the trio of models appearing down with their guesses, but did not have the models who would make up the trio. This also means that anyone hoping that Kate Upton would get her third straight cover were wrong (but she does get to go to space, which seems cool).

Also Emily Ratajkowski didn’t win the cover, but she always kind of an underdog in my opinion. A sexy underdog. Which coincidentally, Sexy Underdog was the name of a show I pitched to Cartoon Network. I’ve yet to hear back.
