Steve Smith Had A Perfect Response To A Trash-Talking Blogger On Twitter

Steve Smith is going out with a bang. The Ravens’ veteran wide receiver announced that this is going to be his final year in the NFL and that he will retire when the season ends. He probably has a little more in the tank – despite being 35 last year, he caught 79 balls for 1,065 yards and six touchdowns – but Smith has been in the league since 2001, so you can’t blame him for wanting to get out after 16 years.

However, Smith is apparently planning on going out with a bang in the most Steve Smith way possible. Smith shot down a blogger who decided to talk some trash, because nobody is better at trash talk than he is. It all started innocently enough, when a Texans reporter decided to tweet out a video of Smith embarrassing Houston from his Carolina days.

That’s whatever, at the very least it’s a nice homage to one of the best receivers of the last 15 years. Of course, because the Internet is the worst, a Cleveland Browns fan decided to talk smack on Smith by calling him a punk.

This is kind of hilarious, because it’s always funny when keyboard warriors decide to talk smack against a professional athlete who could emasculate them. Since this is Steve Smith, he responded, and a war of words happened between the Pro Bowl receiver and a blogger.

I’m not usually one to judge a fight, but Smith beat this guy like he owed him money. The Browns and the Ravens square off on Oct. 11 and Nov. 30, and hopefully Smith has some kind of computer-inspired celebration ready, because that’s going to be awesome.
