PepsiCo., the parent company that owns Gatorade, has announced that they have dissolved its relationship with Tiger Woods. The news comes one week after Tiger’s public apology, and almost three months after Gatorade’s “Tiger Focus” brand sports drink was discontinued. PepsiCo. is the third sponsor to drop Woods since everyone found out that he was banging all those girls.

At first, Woods’ sponsors said they would stick by their star athlete. But in December, Accenture and AT&T announced they were dropping sponsorship. Woods had signed a multi-year agreement with the telecom giant in February 2009, but terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Procter & Gamble’s Gillette said it would stop airing commercials that feature Woods for a while, though the company stopped short of saying it would end the relationship. Other major sponsors, including Nike, have stuck by Woods. –CNN Money.

PepsiCo can use what’s left of that reportedly $100 million deal to pay off their bottling acquisitions. So has Gatorade taken Tiger’s name off their phone. I wonder…
