The SEC Comes Down Hard On Mississippi State’s Dillon Day After He Stomped On An LSU Player

Mississippi State center Dillon Day stomped two LSU players during the Bulldogs’ win against the Tigers on Saturday, so the SEC has decided to suspend Day for one game.

In both instances, there’s no question as to whether Day actually put his boot into the players, but whether or not there was actual intent. Day, through a letter posted on his Twitter, apologized to Bulldogs fans and claimed that both stomps were accidental; however, what’s working against Day is that he was suspended for a half last year after stomping an Auburn player. And that’s before viewing both stomps above, each of which look to have that extra kick right before impact that transcends mere accident.

Day’s suspension hurts the Bulldogs, as the team’s next game sees them play host to Texas A&M on Oct. 4.
