Tomas Tatar’s Incredible Stick-Handling Skills Is The Perfect Use Of GoPro

The NHL and some of its biggest stars are once again teaming up with GoPro to produce a series of great videos that help showcase some of the elite skill possessed by today’s best hockey players. The partnership began last year and saw immediate success thanks to GoPro’s ability to capture footage from unique perspectives, and they’re trying to outdo themselves with their “NHL After Dark” series this year.

The idea is simple: Take the stars and stick them inside an empty hockey rink after the doors close, and then just see what they can do. The first episode of the series features Red Wings forward Tomas Tatar, who is recognized for having some of the best hands in the NHL. As he showcases some of his stickhandling skills, Tatar credits street hockey for helping to develop his game and creativity.

If this is the kind of stuff that street hockey helps develop, the NHL should start embracing it. I’ve always thought it would be cool to see a roller hockey event at All-Star Weekend. Something tells me Tatar would agree.

Here’s a sneak peek at what else is still to come in GoPro’s “NHL After Dark” series.
