UFC 197 Results: Jon Jones Gets Gold Back And Demetrious Johnson Dominates

Jon Jones has gold back around his waist, and is now the interim UFC light heavyweight champion. He looked tentative and rusty, but was utterly dominant nonetheless. The methodical title fight capped off an exciting night of UFC action.

—Demetrious Johnson def. Henry Cejudo via KO (round 1). Mighty Mouse proved once again that he’s one of if not the best UFC champion today with this incredible performance.

—Edson Barboza def. Anthony Pettis via unanimous decision. This was all Barboza, and it was pretty much a perfect fight from the Brazilian, who leg-kicked Pettis into oblivion.

—Robert Whittaker def. Rafael Natal via unanimous decision. If not for all of the action and the stunning kick from Yair Rodriguez, this would’ve been way more hyped.

—Yair Rodriguez def. Andre Fili via one of the craziest flying switch head kicks you’ll ever see. (Round 2)
Fox Sports 1 Prelims

—Sergio Pettis def. Chris Kelades via unanimous decision.

—Danny Roberts def. Dominique Steele via unanimous decision. This was one of the best fights of the night, a back and forth battle that came down to the final round. Only a few of the great highlights can be seen below, but they don’t do justice to the grind-fest that was Roberts v. Steele.

—Carla Esparza def. Juliana Lima via unanimous decision. It wasn’t as bad as this Wikipedia editor made it out to be.

—James Vick def. Glaico Franca via unanimous decision

This one was all Vick in an impressive performance. He called out Michael Chiesa after the fight, as he’s the only man to beat Vick.
