UFC Fight Night 87 Results: Alistair Overeem Karate Kicks Andrei Arlovski Into Unconsciousness

A heavyweight title shot was potentially on the line in Rotterdam between two heavyweight teammates, and despite Andrei Arlovski’s strong early efforts, Alistair Overeem reigned supreme on his home turf.

Check out the full results below.

Main card
—Alistair Overeem def. Andrei Arlovski via TKO (round 2).

Watch the replay of the knockout here.

—Stefan Struve def. Antonio Silva via TKO (round 1).

It only took 16 seconds for Struve to clock Bigfoot across the chin, then finish him off with knees and elbows in front of his home crowd. It was the third fastest finish in UFC heavyweight history. After the fight, Struve thanked Jordan Parsons, his training partner who passed away this week after a hit and run incident.

—Gunnar Nelson def. Albert Tumenov via submission (rear naked choke) (round 2).

—Germaine de Randamie def. Anna Elmose via TKO (knees to the belly) (round 1).

—Nikita Krylov def. Francimar Barroso via submission (round 2).

—Karolina Kowalkiewicz def. Heather Jo Clark via unanimous decision.

—Rustam Khabilov def. Chris Wade via unanimous decision.

—Garreth McLellan def. Magnus Cedenblad via TKO (round 2).

—Josh Emmett def. Jon Tuck via split decision. This was quite the debut for Emmett. He looked like he dislocated his pinkie finger in the third round and hid it from the ref so the fight could go on. If you’re into seeing that sort of thing, you can see it (all of it) here.

—Reza Madadi def. Yan Cabral via KO (round 2).

This, after a lot of bro-hugging.

Fight Pass Prelims

—Kyoji Horiguchi def. Neil Seery via unanimous decision.

—Leon Edwards def. Dominic Waters via unanimous decision.

—Ulka Sasaki def. Willie Gates via submission (rear-naked choke) (round 2).
