ESPN’s College GameDay was pretty unkind to Urban Meyer this past weekend, and now Meyer’s family is returning the favor to the weekly network program.
A sign with Auburn coach Gus Malzahn’s face that read “If this crap keeps up, I’m going to fake a heart attack and go join the Big Ten” was chosen as ‘Sign of the Day’ by GameDay, which may not have been the best decision considering it was clearly poking fun at Meyer’s past health problems. Meyer cited health issues as his reason for leaving Florida following the 2010 season and, following a year working for ESPN, then filled Ohio State’s head coaching vacancy in 2012.
Meyers’ family was clearly upset with the jab the sign took at Urban and GameDay‘s decision to spotlight it. Meyer’s wife, Shelley, fired the first shot at the program’s official Twitter account.

Following in the steps of her criticism, Meyer’s two daughters, Gigi and Nicki, directed some disappointment of their own at the show as well.
Makes me sick. "Appropriate" my a**. Stick to what happens on the field. That's all y'all know anything about. https://t.co/X46VsELkcn

College GameDay has yet to release a statement or issue an apology for the sign, but it will be interesting to see if one comes eventually. The Meyer family would probably appreciate it.
Update: The original tweet from Gameday has been deleted.
