Michael Phelps And The U.S. Swim Team Spoofed ‘Carpool Karaoke’

The formidable United States swimming team will take on titans like Australia and China in the pool at the Rio Olympics, but at the moment America stands uncontested in the world of swimmers that get their “Carpool Karaoke” on.

U.S. swimming stars like Michael Phelps, Katie Ledecky, Ryan Lochte, and loads more engaged in an off-brand version of the Late Late Show staple while driving around Atlanta and clearly had a blast taking part. (If only they had this on a yacht or speedboat.) It’s nothing that’s likely to trouble Adele, but the enthusiasm is palpable and some quality dancing is involved, so the whole affair should be checked off as a win.

Crafted into an easy-to-digest sub-8 minute video, we get the USA Swimming glee club’s take on such fare as Miley Cyrus’ “Party In The USA,” Fifth Harmony’s “BO$$” and “What Do You Mean?” from (GASP!) Canuck pop vendor Justin Bieber. Naturally, the Pokemon theme makese an appearance (because 2016) and that’s not the only familiar theme tune that pops up in the rotation.

We have Phelps & Friends busting out their unique vocal stylings in the clip located at the top of the screen. Consult your congressperson if you’d like to send along a medal for their efforts.
