An ugly incident at a high school game in Indiana resulted in a bench-clearing brawl involving players and fans. The fight started when Griffin High’s Anthony Murphy was pushed in the back while going up for a layup. After he crashed into the back wall, all hell broke loose, with players (and fans) throwing wild haymakers. As result of the fight, the game was called in the first quarter. Police were brought in to break up the fight.

Hammond coach Larry Moore Jr. was very disappointed, standing outside the Wildcats locker room, where he had to tell his players more than once to get back into the locker room.

“When you have adults coming onto the floor it’s an unfortunate situation,” Moore Jr. said. “I’m just concerned getting my kids onto our bus safely.

“It happened so quickly.”

Griffith police got a copy of a video of the brawl and are looking for adults who may have thrown punches.

Charges may be filed depending on video review.
