WWE Battleground Results

Here are your quick and dirty WWE Battleground results for Sunday night’s pay-per-view event. Be sure to come back tomorrow for the Best and Worst of WWE Battleground for all your editorializing needs.

WWE Battleground results:

Pre-show match: Dolph Ziggler defeated Damien Sandow. Ziggler won by pinfall with the Zig Zag.

1. Hardcore match: Alberto Del Rio defeated Rob Van Dam to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Del Rio won by submission when he applied a cross arm-breaker to Van Dam while RVD’s arm was trapped in a steel chair.

2. The Real Americans defeated Santino Marella and The Great Khali. Cesaro pinned Khali after a giant swing. Yes, Antonio Cesaro giant-swung The Great Khali.

3. Curtis Axel defeated R-Truth to retain the Intercontinental Championship. Axel won with his hangman’s facebuster.

4. AJ Lee defeated Brie Bella to retain the Divas Championship. Lee pinned Bella when Brie became momentarily distracted by Tamina Snuka choking out Nikki Bella.

5. Cody Rhodes and Goldust defeated The Shield. Cody pinned Seth Rollins following a Cross Rhodes. Per the pre-match stipulation, this win gets Cody and Goldust now once again have WWE jobs. After the match, the Rhodes family celebrated with members of the roster.

6. Bray Wyatt defeated Kofi Kingston. Wyatt won with Sister Abigail.

7. CM Punk defeated Ryback. Punk took advantage of the referee being distracted by Paul Heyman and low-blowed Ryback, then pinned him.

8. Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton was a No Contest. At the end of the match, Big Show interfered, knocking out Bryan, Orton and referee Scott Armstrong. The show ended with Big Show celebrating as his music played, for some reason.
