WWE Raw Results 4/14/14

Here are your quick and dirty, editorial-free WWE Raw results for April 14, 2014, aka the post- post-Mania episode. The show was headlined by the first round of an Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender tournament and tributes to the life of the late Ultimate Warrior.

WWE Raw results:

1. Rob Van Dam defeated Alberto Del Rio. This was a first round match in the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender tournament. Van Dam pinned Del Rio with a Five Star Frog Splash.

2. Ryback and Curtis Axel defeated Goldust and Cody Rhodes. Ryback got the win for his team by countering a Cody Rhodes Disaster Kick with a Meat Hook clothesline.

3. WWE Divas Champion Paige defeated Alicia Fox. Paige won by submission with a Scorpion Cross Lock on Fox.

4. Batista and Randy Orton defeated WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos. Batista and Orton won the match by disqualification when they were jumped by The Shield. Roman Reigns hit Batista with a Superman Punch to drive Orton and Batista away.

5. Cesaro defeated Mark Henry. This was also a first round match in the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender tournament. Cesaro defeated Henry with a diving European uppercut off the ropes and a Neutralizer.

6. Alexander Rusev defeated Xavier Woods. Rusev won a quick match by submission with The Accolade. After the match, R-Truth tried to attack Rusev but got beaten up. Personal note: Lana, you guys.

7. Sheamus defeated Jack Swagger. This was the night’s third first round match in the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender tournament. Sheamus won with a Brogue Kick.

– Damien Sandow delivered a promo about how he deserves to be important in WWE. Big Show punched him in the face.

– John Cena used photoshop to emasculate Bray Wyatt and challenge him to a cage match at Extreme Rules.

8. Fandango and Layla defeated Santino Marella and Emma. Layla pinned Emma.

– Stephanie berated Kane for not being the man he used to be. Kane responded by removing the old Kane mask from Stephanie’s glass case and swearing he’ll end Daniel Bryan.

9. Bad News Barrett defeated Dolph Ziggler. This was the final first round match in the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender tournament. Barrett KO’d Ziggler with the Bullhammer elbow to get the pin and advance.

– The tournament now stands as Cesaro vs. Rob Van Dam and Sheamus vs. Bad News Barrett.

10. The Shield vs. Ryback, Curtis Axel, Titus O’Neil, Alexander Rusev, Fandango, 3MB, Alberto Del Rio, Jack Swagger and Bad News Barrett went to a no contest. Yes, this was The Shield vs. 11 men, made as punishment for what they did to Triple H last week. The referee called for the bell when everyone started fighting everyone. After the match, all 11 men jumped The Shield.

After THAT, the music for Evolution hit, bringing Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton down to the ring. Evolution singled out the Shield and took them out one by one, leaving them lying.
