WWE Raw Results 7/15/13

– New General Manager Brad Maddox opened the show, announcing that John Cena would be able to choose his opponent for a WWE Championship match at SummerSlam.

1. Randy Orton defeated Fandango. Orton won a back-and-forth contest with an RKO.

– Mark Henry came to the ring to discuss his match with John Cena from Sunday’s pay-per-view, but was attacked and decimated by The Shield.

2. World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio defeated Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler went for a pinfall after connecting with a second-rope Fame-asser, but AJ Lee rang the bell before a count could be made. During the distraction, Del Rio kicked Ziggler in the head and pinned him. After the match, AJ and Big E Langston attacked Dolph Ziggler, leaving him lying.

– R-Truth rapped in the ring, but was attacked by the Wyatt Family. Bray Wyatt hit Truth with his finisher “Sister Abigail” to send a message to Kane.

3. The Usos defeated Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger. Jey Uso countered a gutwrench suplex from Cesaro into a sunset flip to win the match.

4. Christian defeated Damien Sandow. Christian countered a Cubito Aequet into a roll-up for the win. After the match, Cody Rhodes attacked Sandow in response to Sandow costing him the Money in the Bank ladder match at the pay-per-view.

5. Naomi defeated Brie Bella. Naomi pinned Bella after a high crossbody.

– CM Punk called out Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar. Heyman said that he betrayed Punk because Punk can’t beat Brock Lesnar. Punk threatened Heyman, so Lesnar showed up, attacked Punk, and the two brawled. The fight ended with Lesnar F5’ing Punk onto the announce table. Without any big editorialization, this was one of the best Raw segments of the year.

6. Rob Van Dam defeated Chris Jericho. Van Dam won the match with a Five-Star Frog Splash.

– John Cena chose Daniel Bryan to be his opponent at SummerSlam.
