WWE Smackdown Live Results 7/26/16

Here are your quick and dirty, editorial-free WWE Smackdown Live results for July 26, 2016. The first “new-look” episode of the show was headlined by a Six Pack Challenge match to determine a No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship. WWE SmackDown Results:

— The show opened with Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan in the ring, surrounded by the Smackdown roster. They announced tonight there would be a Six Pack Challenge to determine a No. 1 contender. Five participants were announced: John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin and AJ Styles. A battle royal would determine the sixth participant.

1. Apollo Crews won a battle royal to gain entry into the Six Pack Challenge match. Crews won by last eliminating Kane.

2. Becky Lynch defeated Natalya. In a rematch from Sunday’s Battleground PPV, Becky forced Natalya to tap out to the Disarmer.

— After the match, Alexa Bliss, Naomi, Carmella and Eva Marie all came out to banter for women’s division supremacy.

— Miz attempted to interview himself on MizTV, but was interrupted by Randy Orton. Orton insulted Miz until Maryse accepted a non-title match on Miz’s behalf.

3. Randy Orton defeated The Miz. Orton won after two RKOs, just for extra emphasis.

— American Alpha will debut next week.

— Heath Slater stormed the ring and demanded Shane McMahon sign him, as he is the hottest free agent in WWE. He was Gored by Rhyno, who was hiding under the ring.

4. Dolph Ziggler won the Six Pack Challenge to become the new No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship. After John Cena hit Attitude Adjustments on the other four people in the match, Styles hit him with a Phenomenal Forearm, then turned around into a Ziggler superkick that led to the pin.
