Watch A 3D Cookie Printer In Action

3D printing has its upsides and its downsides, but one thing we can all agree on is that using it to create weird food is completely awesome. And the Consumer Electronics Show will be full of gadgets, like this cookie-dough and chocolate 3D printer from journeyman manufacturer XYZ.

The idea is fairly simple; punch in a design, and the print extrudes it for you. It’s not dissimilar to the 3D printer used to make pasta we recently told you about, but far more delicious.

We only see a basic demonstration here, but this appears to be a full 3D printer, so you could enter in any number of designs and see them rendered in delicious foodstuffs. As for pricing, XYZ specializes in the consumer-grade end of 3D printing, so these won’t be $5,000 monstrosities, but they probably won’t be cheap, either. They’ll likely be released sometime this year.
