T-Mobile Gives ‘Pokémon Go’ Players A Full Year Of Data-Free Hunting

T-Mobile gets it: We love Pokémon Go. It’s more widely searched than pornography. It’s caused car accidents. A glorified PokéMob formed in downtown Washington recently to catch a rare creature. Most of all, T-Mobile knows how much data it’s costing us. So T-Mobile decided to help out. No catch. Well, except for all the Pokémon.

The mobile phone company has promised a full year of free, unlimited data on Pokémon Go. That means starting July 19, players can hunt Pokémon from dawn until dusk without using a single megabyte of high-speed data until the end of August 2017. You have to download the T-Mobile Tuesdays app to claim the gift, and you can only claim it on Tuesdays from July 19 to August 9. Otherwise you’ll miss out faster than you did trying to catch Magikarp.

It’s part of the company’s newest promotion T-Mobile Tuesday, which gives free promotions every (you guessed it) Tuesday. Other rewards for next week’s T-Mobile Tuesday include a $15 Lyft ride credit and a free Wendy’s Frosty, to help in your search for Pokémon.

The company is also giving 250 people $100 in PokéCoins, and five others will get a Pokémon Go hunting trip for themselves and a guest to anywhere in the United States. I’ve heard Washington might be a good place to start.
